Our two gallon SafGard Pres-Vac electric pasteurizer uses the same principles (pressurized heating and vacuum sealed cooling) found in commercial pasteurizers. This design offers faster pasteurization for better flavored milk and complete destruction of disease-producing bacteria without over-heating. Easy to use: Place aluminum bucket of milk (2 quarts to 2 gallons) inside unit, fill jacket with water, and plug it in. When milk reaches 165 degrees, pasteurizer buzzes. Unplug it, attach hose to faucet, and cool milk with running water. If you have more milk to pasteurize, empty milk for further cooling, and fill pasteurizer pail again. Milk bucket lid has pressure lock to keep steam in. 1250 watt heating element operates on 110-120 volt AC current, keeping electricity costs low. You can substitute a high quality stainless steel pail and lid (for the aluminum one) for an additional $35.
